Starting Friday July 3rd Glastonbury Shangri-La are running world’s first fully-immersive VR music festival, Lost Horizon in place of the Glastonbury’s 2020 festival edition. This is the “mother of all festivals” and millions of people will be able to join the event from the comfort of their home for a 2-day, fully interactive and multi-stage event.

The 4 festival stages will be recreated in virtual reality (2D and 3D in game mode): Nomad stage, Freedom, Yours Truthfully, and the prize stage, Gas Tower. The lineup of performers is a stellar collection of the world’s biggest electronic names including Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, A.Skillz, Coldcut, ANNA, Dabbla, Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon, and Peggy Gou, to name just a few.

Nomad stage is new for 2020 and has been created for the 30th  Anniversary of the Traveller’s field that came before Shangri-La, “the heart of the free party movement”. On this stage the attendees will be able to see showcases by Hospital Records (Whiney, Metrik and London Elektricity), 24 Hour Garage Girls (Shosh, Sammy Virji), Critical Sound (Kasra and guests), and many more.

This is a one-of-a-kind experience during which “mobile users will be able to toggle between different vantage points within the virtual world, whereas virtual reality and PC users will be able to move around inside the space, chat and interact with other festival goers, just as if they were at a real life festival” – an interactive event in the times we are unable to be interactive IRL.

Lost Horizon is a pay-what-you-can festival and the proceeds made will be put towards The Big Issue and Amnesty International as a response to the pandemic and how it is affecting the planet.
