Vita and the Woolf announce new album and tour dates
Jen Pague, better known as Vita and the Woolf, returns with a new album following her debut release TUNNELS. The new album, Anna Ohio, is set to drop on May 8th via Tender Loving Empire.
This new record is “Jen Pague’s vision through and through,” here she found a sound she’s been searching for and was able to creatively tell the story of that, very personal journey. It is in a way a concept album: “pilgrimage of self-discovery, confront addition, depression, and self-doubt through the overhaul of one’s personality”. Anna Ohio in this case is a fictional character representing a very real personal reflection of the artist, “a direct line out from a soul-searching heart and mind”. Anna Ohio is an intimate pop record, built on patient undertones, filled with understated guitar and inventive drum patterns of Adam Shmuski, Pague’s longtime bandmate and friend.
Ahead of the album Pague share a new music video for one of the new tracks, “Operator,” a song about her finding a new home for her dog Xena after moving to Los Angeles. “It’s about dealing with those emotions of cutting ties, making sacrifices, and leaving behind the past in order to move on to a new place in life,” she shared, the music video is about “getting lost in outer space, searching for Xena”.
