Heatwave Music Festival is one of the newer EDM gatherings taking place during Chicago’s summer schedule. Debuting last year, Heatwave instantly became a fan favorite experience with many excited for the possibilities in its return. Now the event organizers switched venues to take place right next to Lake Michigan at Northerly Island. One thing that won’t be changing is the plethora of DJs fans will get to see over that weekend. Here are some artists fans can be excited to see at Heatwave.

Griz: One of the most exciting names to see on the lineup announcement this year was easily GRiZ. Known for playing live saxophone during his elaborate DJ set, GRiZ will bring the right amount of funk to Heatwave. The community of electronic-soul GRiZ has built is dedicated to having a good time so festival-goers will want to show up early if they want to get a good view. Regards, GRiZ set is sure to bring something different compared to the rest of the event and have the grooviest vibe to dance to.

Elephante: Elephante is a DJ that has come up in recent years. Since his arrival, he has already been making waves by playing at shows like Lollapalooza and EDC. Elephante’s album Heavy Flow gained him much fame and exposure with heartfelt mixes like “Dopamine” and “Tired of Being Tired” which gives hope in times of being alone. Now Elephante is back to making fun tunes. You’ll want to check out his set if you’re into progressive pop-house music.

LSDream: As the name infers, LSDream is known for putting together fantastical DJ performances with psychedelic visuals to melt your mind. The way LSDream laces together bass-heavy tracks in a loose, fun way is similar to the way jazz musicians give you that swing. LSDream knows how to keep the mood jumping for fans to headbang to.

Eazybaked: The duo of Eric Ray and Andrew Principe forming EAZYBAKED has pushed the underground bass scene. Having dropped multiple projects and mixes more recently, EAZYBAKED is carving out their niche expanding their audiences through their magnificent frequencies.

Tiësto: Saving the best for last, Tiesto is perhaps the biggest name of the weekend. The Godfather of EDM has earned his legacy by putting on extravagant set designs to coexist with his epic soundscape tunes taking listeners on a journey to forget about time. He’ll have the honor of closing out the show and he makes each performance worth attending. This will easily be the most packed set of the entire weekend.

Heatwave is shaping up to be one of the best dance party experiences of summer. There are plenty of more DJs to look forward to seeing take up the weekend including Gryffin, Slander, Kx5, and more. There will be plenty of art installations for fans to interact and take photos with. You might want to keep an eye on weather conditions however as being so close Lake might bring some wind chills. Regards the music alone will sure to bring the Heatwave.
