Fill your void with Mamby on the Beach
by Michael Glader
With Chicago’s festival season in full swing, there is never a dull moment in the city. From its block parties, neighborhood parties, food and music festivals, Chicagoans rejoice and come together under the sun for one of the best summers in America. Simply put, Chicago is a good place to be this summer.
Between Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, Riot Fest and North Coast, there’s a lot to brag about, but making its way to the city for the first time is a new music festival – Mamby on the Beach. Located on Chicago’s south shore at Oakwood Beach, Mamby on the Beach offers a sandy, beach party, music experience with a refreshing mix of electronic, house, and indie dance artists. Boasting festival headliners, Passion Pit and Empire of The Sun, Mamby is here to fill your “dancing in the sand” void.
Not only will Passion Pit and Empire of The Sun be there, you also have Phantogram, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, Cut Copy, Cherub, Tanlines and Röyksopp. There’s also a ton of other fantastic artists that will keep you going all day and night, Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12.
So you can hang out in the sun, dancing with a drink in your hand on the sand or you can stay in with the usual dilemma of what to watch on Netflix. Early bird tickets have already sold out, so get on this quickly. Two day tickets run $119 and single day tickets are $67.50. Be sure to keep your trunks on and I’ll see you there!
