Zeds Dead will take over Chicago for 2-night event
The iconic electronic duo, Zeds Dead, make their highly anticipated return to Chicago for an epic 2-night arena event. For over a decade, the combo of DC and Hooks has been wowing fans with their magnificent shows around the world, yet the Windy City has always had a place in their hearts and remains a cornerstone in their touring history. From some of their earliest sold-out shows across city favourite venues like Aragon Ballroom, Concord Music Hall and most recently The Salt Shed. They continue the tradition of hosting an extravagant spectacle in Chicago during December as they kick things up a notch with a 2-night event, Deadbeats Presents: Zeds Dead-Return to the Arena of Intergalactic Happiness at the Wintrust Arena.
There’s plenty of excitement within the city as thousands of fans across the country are making the journey towards the Wintrust Arena to experience a monumental weekend. Originally planned as a single stop during Zeds Dead current tour has now resulted in the ultimate destination celebration. Return of the Arena of Intergalactic Happiness pledges to bring a massive new stage production blending innovative design, showcasing rare throwback moments and immersive storytelling for their big event. This weekend will mark the climactic finale of their annual Deadbeats tour and one of the most elaborate to take place in Chicago.
These end-of-the-year back-to-back shows are a defining moment for Zeds Dead. They expanded the narrative of their 2025 release, Return of the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness, with the audiovisual project “Channel Flipping 2: Only You,” taking viewers on an odyssey of historic pop culture moments in music. Billboard admired the work for its “heartstring-pulling…whipping up nostalgia, inspiration and a spirit of purpose.” The Chicago show intends to add a cinematic experience to match the vibrant, euphoric tunes.
Since 2009, Zeds Dead have been a genre-defying act whose impact continues to put forth to provide their diehard fans with an experience they will never forget. They immediately established themselves as a cultural phenomenon, never settling in the music or visuals they bring, garnering millions of streams across multiple platforms. They’ve been able to collaborate with other high-profile stars like Diplo, Pasha T, Griz, Subtronics, Ganja White Night and many others. In 2016, they launched their independent record label, Deadbeats, which has since contributed over 300 releases from Levity, REZZ and Zeds Dead themselves. Their annual “DeadRocks” show, headlining the scenic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, has sold out every year since 2014, truly showing the cult-like following the pair have achieved.
This weekend is shaping up to be one for the books that you don’t want to miss. The stars are aligned for something truly special taking place in the heart of the frozen Windy City yet the anticipation alone is keeping admirers’ energy at an all-time high. Fans can’t wait to witness what the team has in store when they step into the area, and the wait is almost over.
