Into “SPRING” with Klassik

image

Inspired by some of the most recognizable names in hip-hop, Milwaukee-based MC and musician, Klassik, recently released SPRING, the follow-up to his February release, WINTER. SPRING is the second of four releases from Klassik’s collective EP music series, SEASONS. The three-song EP is almost reminiscent of the music of hip-hop groups such as The Pharcyde and A Tribe Called Quest – both of whom Klassik admires.

SPRING is not your quintessential hip-hop or rap album; in just three songs, Klassik infuses hints of jazz and EDM to create his unique hip-hop sound. The metaphorical premise behind SPRING is that the season itself is symbolic of growth and new life – a season of change and new beginnings.  What Klassik does with three tracks (“Go Far,” “Know It All,” and “Otha Fish”) would be a struggle for some artists to do with a full-length album. Although Klassik is delivering his story and message to the listener, his delivery is light-hearted and fun. This upbeat work from Klassik is creative and personal – giving the listener a minute glimpse of what to look forward to from the remaining seasonal EPs.
