Québec City wont stop with the music festivals: Get ready for St-Roch XP

Have recently wrapped up 11 days of music celebrations at FEQ Québec City is gearing up for another multiday event: St-Roch XP urban festival, organised by BLEUFEU. September 4th through 6th, Québec’s lower Downtown will be transformed into a music and food festival. In its 8th edition, this is the first year the festival extends into Sunday.

“This 8th edition of St-Roch XP marks an important step in the growth of a festival with a unique DNA, one that reflects both our commitment to showcasing emerging talent and the vibrant personality of its neighbourhood,” shared Nicolas Racine, CEO of BLEUFEU.

The event will bring together 62 emerging artists across 20 venues for free performances across rue Saint-Joseph, presented by SiriusXM. The lineup includes the likes of Katrine Noël, Laura Schembri, AUS!Funkt, Loïc Lafrance, Luvleelou, Jules is dead, Melvin, Paige Barlow, Colin Léo, and many more.

Late-night showcases will be held at the yet another unique venue, the former Benjo store, which will be transformed into a true club for the duration of St-Roch XP. On the late-night lineup, you will see Tupi Collective, Canicule, DJ Sin Less, Otis, Sassafras, and DJ Tallandskiinny.

Ubisoft Series of ticketed events, held at the Impérial Bell and Grizzly Fuzz, will spotlight performances by Elisapie, Fred Fortin, Jay Scøtt, Jérôme 50, and Alphonse Bisaillon, among many others.

“At the heart of St-Roch XP’s mission lies the idea of experiencing music differently. We want to inspire new listening habits and broaden musical horizons,” added Louis Bellavance, Vice President of Content and Artistic Direction at BLEUFEU.

“The event exists to support rising artists by offering them a unique and distinctive showcase. We want to spark a passion for emerging music among fans by providing original ways to enjoy live performances,” Bellavance continued. “In these ephemeral, surprising venues, each show becomes an exceptional and intimate encounter between artist and audience. That’s the magic of St-Roch XP!”

The food portion of this celebration will also be focused along rue Saint-Joseph, where merchants will take to the sidewalks to showcase their best bites at affordable prices. Gabrielle-Roy Library will be host to a series of culinary workshops by Jean-Philippe (La cuisine de Jean-Philippe), Jean-Christophe Comptois (Honō Izakaya), and Maude Épicerie.

As an added community bonus, recognising the rise of social isolation, BLEUFEU will donate $0.50 from every ticket sold to local organisations working to combat social isolation in our community.
