The first track from the album, “Render Me, ” is cleaner and leaner but still features that typical Mr. Scruff electronic funk we love and miss. This sound promises to carry out through the new album. Carthy describes the album is “tougher, sparser, [with] less samples, more bass. More vocals and collaborations and shorter tunes.” Denis Jones, who’s vocals you hear on “Render Me,” has been jamming with Carthy’s on regular basis and that harmony definitely shows.
